A custom finisher jersey is a jersey given to riders who complete your sportive or gran fondo, designed around the event, the route and the year. To get them delivered before the start, plan backwards from the event date, agree the design early and approve a proof before anything goes to production. This guide covers design, sizing, sponsors and timeline for event organisers.
What makes a good finisher jersey?
One that riders actually wear on the next ride. That means a clean design that names the event and the year, a cut that works on the bike, and a size run that fits the field. Treat it as a real jersey, not a souvenir. Our custom cycling jerseys page explains how a jersey is built to your brief.
What should the design include?
The event name, the year and one strong visual idea: the route profile, a landmark or the finish town. Keep it simple enough to read at a glance. If you are working from existing artwork, check what artwork files we need before you send anything.
How do you handle sponsor logos?
Agree placement early, because logos shape the whole layout. Decide which sponsors appear, where they sit and how much space each gets before design starts, so you avoid redrawing late. See sponsor logo placement on cycling kit.
How do you size a finisher jersey order?
Use the registration data, then add a margin. You will not know the exact finisher count or the split by size until late, so plan a size run across the range and include men's and women's fits. Read mixed men's and women's sizing to plan the split.
How long does it take?
Plan around 6 to 8 weeks from approved design to delivery, then work back from your event date and leave room for proof changes and shipping. The full breakdown is in the custom kit order timeline. Order minimums are covered in the custom kit minimum order guide.
What is the approval process?
You see a design proof and sign it off before production starts. Nothing goes to production without your approval. The steps are in the proof and approval process.
Is this the same as event kit for volunteers and staff?
No. Finisher jerseys go to participants, while volunteer and staff kit is a separate order. Both are covered in custom kit for race events. Charity ride organisers can also see custom kit for charity rides. If your riders need advice on race-day kit, point them to what to wear for a gran fondo.
Quick answers
When should I start?
As early as you can: design, proof, production and shipping all sit between you and the start line.
Can I order small quantities?
Minimums apply, and they are explained in the minimum order guide linked above.
Who approves the design?
You do. A proof is shared and nothing is produced until you sign it off.
