Custom Base Layers, Arm and Leg Warmers for Clubs and Teams

Yes — base layers, arm warmers and leg warmers can all be produced in your club's design, on the same sublimation process and the same sign-off workflow as your jerseys and bib shorts. They are the pieces most clubs forget, and the ones that keep a squad looking like a squad for eight months of the year instead of four.

Why the accessory layer is worth ordering

Most club orders stop at the jersey and the bib short. That covers summer. From October to April riders cover the club design with whatever warmers and layers they already own, and a group that looked coordinated in July looks like a training ride in November.

Warmers are the cheapest way to fix that in kit terms, because they are small pieces with high visible surface area. Arm warmers sit directly in frame in every group photo. Leg warmers carry the club colours across the whole lower leg. Both are visible from the wheel behind, which is where most of a club's kit gets seen.

What can be customised

The accessory layer covers base layers, arm warmers, leg warmers, and thermal bib tights. Each takes the same full-surface sublimated design as the rest of the range — club colours, panel graphics, sponsor marks and rider names where relevant.

Base layers are the exception worth thinking about, since they sit under a jersey and are rarely seen. Most clubs keep them plain in a club colour rather than paying for full design on a hidden garment, then put the budget into warmers instead. Tell us how you want to split it and we will build the quote both ways.

Sponsor logos on small panels

Sublimation reproduces a logo cleanly at small sizes as long as the artwork is vector and the design has enough contrast against the panel behind it. A wordmark that works at 60mm on a jersey chest usually works at 30mm on an arm warmer.

What does not survive the reduction is fine detail: thin outlines, small gradients, and text under about 8mm. If a sponsor only has a raster logo, ask them for the vector original before the design stage rather than after — it is the single most common cause of a redesign round. Our guide to sponsor logo placement covers where they work best across the rest of the kit.

Ordering warmers alongside a main kit order

Add them to the same order. The design is already approved, the colours are matched in one production run, and you avoid a second round of sizing and sign-off. Ordering warmers separately later means a new batch, a new colour match, and a fresh minimum.

Colour consistency is the real argument. Sublimated colour is matched per production run, so warmers made alongside the jerseys will sit closer to them than warmers made six months later. If the club wears them together, order them together — the order timeline guide shows how to work backwards from your season.

How sizing works on warmers

Warmers size on circumference — bicep for arms, thigh and calf for legs — not on the jersey size a member gave you. Collect those two numbers alongside the rest of the size collection rather than assuming a rider's jersey size carries across.

Base layers size close to the body and generally follow the member's jersey size one step down. A base layer with air in it does not wick, so err small rather than large across the order.

Minimums and timelines

Custom accessories run from 5–10 pieces per item, and production is the same 6–8 weeks from design sign-off as the rest of the range. Design rounds and size collection sit before that, so plan roughly three to four months out from the date you want to be wearing them.

For a club that wants warmers ready for autumn, that means starting the conversation in early summer. Reorders against a design already on file move faster, because the design stage is already done.

FAQ

Can we get custom arm and leg warmers in our club design? Yes — full sublimated design across the whole piece, same process as the jerseys.

Do custom base layers make sense if nobody sees them? For most clubs, a plain club colour is the sensible call. Put the design budget into the pieces that show.

Will the colours match our existing kit? Closest match comes from producing them in the same run as the main order. A later batch is matched to the design, but run-to-run variation exists in any sublimation process.

What is the minimum order? From 5–10 pieces per item.

How long does it take? Roughly 6–8 weeks of production after design sign-off, plus design rounds and size collection beforehand.

What file do you need from our sponsors? Vector artwork. Raster logos are the most common cause of an extra design round.
